La Spezia shore trip to Pisa and Lucca
A beautiful trip not too far from La Spezia

Lucca it's a lovely little town, and certainly deserves more time thatn Pisa to be fully explored and appreciated. You can rent a bike or decide to walk around the area and visit the main squares like Piazza San Michele, Piazza Napoleone or the Piazza dell'Anfiteatro. A special mention has to be spent about St Martin Cathedral, belonging to the middle age, houses the precious relic of the Volto santo di Lucca.
For lunch you may choose to experience some of the local specialties in a traditional osteria or move to the countryside and visit a wine farm. There are always served their wines together with local cheeses and col cuts all accompanied by bruschette and perfumed olive oil.
In the afternoon you may go for a ride in the countryside to admire the gorgeous mansions built in the Renaissance by the richest families of the area for spending their holidays in cool and shady places.
Afterwards depart to Pisa. It is famous in the world for its Leaning Tower, but even the Cathedral, the Baptistery and the Cemetery are worth seen. All together they make the so-called Piazza dei Miracoli (miracles field). Over these magnificent monuments there are other places like Piazza dei Cavalieri and Borgo Stretto, that are worth of a glance.
